Steve irwin book biography

From a very young age I remember being a huge fan of Steve Irwin, although I would never admit it to anyone. I bought his books under the guise of my brother and would secretly watch all of his shows by having them recorded if I couldn't make it. It wasn't until his death however where I realised just how much his message of animal protection and conservation had hit me. When the news broke out of his death, I remember we were heading to a McDonalds party for my brothers soccer finals and I was almost eleven. I raced to my brother to show him what was on the television and he only shrugged, saying "it's sad, but well yeah, that's it, just sad". I was heartbroken and for the entire night I cried hiding in one of the higher towers of the of the play equipment so that people wouldn't see me. I can't tell you why I was ashamed to say that he was my hero- Perhaps that my own grandfather called him a lunatic had a lot to do with it, but the truth was he was my idol.

I grieved tremendously for this man, making scrapbooks from newspaper clippings and treating the few items of merchandise like treasured gold. I cried for a long time afterwards too My hero, perhaps one of the best heros to have in this world compared t
