Engineer Atef Helmy, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, conducted a visit on 2 September 2013 to the Faculty of Commerce, Alexandria University and the Faculty of Medicine as well as its affiliated hospital to celebrate the preparation of regional university and super specialty hospital of the Pan African e - network project.
The visit, attended by the President of the University of Alexandria and the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the University, was honoured by the presence of the Indian Ambassador in Cairo Navdeep Suri. The project comes within the framework of the grant presented by the Indian Government to the African Union to use Information and Communication Technology in the provision of medical services and education for African countries for a period of five years The project will enable the creation of a site for distance education and distance medical services for all African countries.
